microprocessor, which is activated by a lowering of heat from the sensor built into the tip. If the tip temperature is lower  than the set temperature, the microprocessor will induce all of the power of the station into the tip until the tip temperature is restored to the set temperature. This happens extremely fast with soldering stations such as the JBC Advanced Series Line, (AD2700, AD2950, DI3000) and the goot RX-802AS all of which have the heater incorporated into the tips.

The reason that stations with regular ceramic heaters or nichrome heaters that are separate from the tips will never have as fast of a recovery time is as follows: Tips that are separate from the heaters of the soldering irons, always require that there be a space between the heater and the tip. This is because of the difference in the expansion characteristics of the different materials used in the tips and the heaters. This space between the heater and the tip is called a dead air space. If you remember your physics, one of the best insulators that we have is dead air space and one of the worst things that you can have between a soldering tip and a heater is an insulator. Therefore, the recovery characteristics of a soldering iron with a separate heater and tip will never be as good as the soldering iron with the heater built into the tip.

After accessing all of the characteristics of all of the soldering stations on the market, it is my assessment that the JBC Tools soldering stations are undoubtedly the best on the market. There are several stations available such as; single analog stations, single digital stations, single stations that will operate microtweezers, dual stations that will operate soldering handpieces and microtweezers, quad stations that will operate up to four combinations of soldering, hot tweezers, and desoldering, and a heavy duty station designed for large soldering jobs such as solar panels. All JBC tools use the advanced technology and are undoubtedly the best on the market, bar none.

They can also be set by a supervisor and locked with a code to prevent operator interference. The Goot RX-802AS is one of the best soldering stations on the market since it too had the heater built into the tip. The tips also have extra plating to handle to extra temperature required and the corrosive effect of lead free solder. The tips can be changed while hot without fear of being
